Dr Hauwa Muhammad, the Reactor, Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, has said that the school would leverage modern technology in its academic and non-academic services.
Dr Hauwa disclosed this while speaking with members of the pen profession in Nasarawa on the prospect of the polytechnic.
The Rector said, “Considering the age we are in now, I intend to make sure that all the various system or the units of the school is digitalised, starting from the ICT Centre, the bursary, the registry and the various units that connect the registry, as well as academic activities.”
She further reveals that currently, she is targeting a workable system for the institution.
“A system where when we say no, it is no, and when it is yes, that’s how it should be. There should be no change in whatever decision the management makes in all cadres of the system, a system that is moving. “
She thanked the federal government for its support and sought more intervention for the Polytechnic development.
“Based on the government initiative that each student should graduate with academic certificate as well as that of skill, we have a skill acquisition centre here, and we are hoping that by the time we get our report from the NBTE, we’ll start the programme where our students will graduate with academic certificate and skill acquisition certificate.”
She further appreciates the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), for approving some courses for the institution, among which is the Railway Engineering Technology, and that students from the polytechnic in recent global academic performance demonstrated brilliance, and the school is proud of.
